Let's make a beautiful party dress for the most famous doll in the world. Choose one with elasticity.
All my patterna are designed without seam allowance.
After cutting the chosen fabric join the shoulders with a seam.
Sew the side where the shoulderless part is located as shown in the photo below.
Fold the neckline and sew.
Sew the back side. Sew puff sleeves from the armpit seam line to the hem, creating the basic sleeve cylinder.
Turn out the sleeves so they are right side out.
Baste stitch, by hand, around the perimeter of the bell shape of the puffy sleeve pattern where you want the gathering to be.
Gather the basting stitch until it fits inside the sleeve opening of the dress you will be sewing it into. Finesse the gathering until it is evently distributed along the bell shape.
Turn the dress inside out and fit the sleeves into the sleeve openings from the inside of the shirt.
Line up the raw edges along the dress sleeve openings and the sleeve shoulder seams, matching the center points of the sleeves to the center points of the dress shoulders.
Sew puff sleeves.
Using the same pattern and make a dress with ruffle. For this measure the length leaving the knee to the desired height, my I measured to the ground.
